Saving the world one diaper at a time!
WHY USE CLOTH?
- Saves money. Using cloth diapers costs less than disposables! Using a cloth diaper service vs. doing cloth on your own results in about the same cost as conventional disposable diapers (i.e. Huggies, Pampers) and less than "green" disposable diapers.
- Saves resources. Cloth diaper use up until potty training saves water and other natural resources, landfill space, and results in fewer greenhouse gas emissions when compared with disposable diapers.
- Saves your baby's bum. In general there are fewer diaper rashes with cloth diapers and time to potty training is shorter! Also, conventional diapers contain many ingredients that may be toxic to humans.
Baby Cakes’ mission is to reduce waste going to landfills, decrease the amount of water and energy put into the diaper industry, and provide a convenient service that can compete with disposable diaper pricing. The organic products available can further reduce the ecological footprint and socioeconomic impact resulting from diaper use. Baby Cakes is also trying to establish relationships within the local community to provide diapers for those who can’t afford diapers--let us know if you’d like to help us achieve that goal!

About the owner
Sara Holman has a little one of her own who started out in cloth diapers from Sweet Peas, the previous cloth diaper delivery service. She felt a need to keep the service going in Bend and jumped at the opportunity to take over in early 2017. With a degree in climate science and love of the outdoors, she realizes the potential for small differences adding up to a world of positive change.
